Church-Wide Service Day
Saturday, October 18 | 9:00am – 2:00pm
Lake Magdalene Church
Join us as we step out in love and serve our community together! On this special day, our church family will be spreading Christ’s love through hands-on projects that make a difference. Whether it’s helping a neighbor, supporting a local ministry, or serving right here on campus, there’s a place for everyone to get involved.
Here are the projects for October 18th:
Working on homes in Ridge Manor, Florida. We will be working with Faith Responders which is the missional arm of the Global Methodist Church. We will be working on properties that were affected by last year’s hurricanes. The projects will entail:
- Paint 3 bedrooms, hall and bathrooms.
- Install 2 toilets and 2 vanities along with the trim for the shower and bathtub.
- Install outlets throughout the house.
- Lay flooring in 3 rooms.
- Install trim and 6 inside doors.
- Install ceiling light fixtures.
- Replace 2 door handles.
- Hang Laundry cabinet, pantry shelves and cabinets in garage.
- Other punch list items.
Russ Montgomery project. Russ Montgomery is a friend of LMC. He is the founder/director of “Living in Faith” Ministry. Many of you know Russ. It was brought to my attention recently that Russ suffered damage from the hurricanes at his home and needs assistance. A team will be serving at his home. The exact details of the needs are still being worked out. It will most likely be cleanup and light construction.
Family-focused service projects on campus. The projects mentioned above are geared more toward adults/high school students. We will be working on several projects here at LMC:
- Storage area under the Sanctuary balcony. This area needs to be organized and cleaned.
- Campus beatification with Stephen Lindsey. I know you all have seen the amazing landscaping here on campus. Stephen Lindsey is the man behind it and he needs help. Stephen will be heading up a landscape team on the 18th. This will be a fun project! Stephen has passion for landscape and will be passing his knowledge onto you all. We will be focusing on 2 areas: Youth House and Heritage Hall.
- Blessing Bags. We will be putting together “blessing bags” in Heritage Hall for those who are in need throughout our community.
Bring your family, invite a friend, and come ready to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
